The Brian Scalabrine thing is just stupid. When fans say x athlete sucks, that doesn't mean that they are comparing them to themselves! They are comparing them to the elite group of professional that these athletes claim it's where they belong. If fans can't judge them based on their performance against their peers then why the hell would they pay to watch or support or whatever? Isn't the whole point is that those athletes are the best of the best and it's a joy to see them do what they do? People like Brian knows that he couldn't perform with the best and couldn't take criticism from the crowd so he call them to compete with him. To me, NASCAR is like pro wrestling, and nobody has branded their wrestlers than the WWE with their larger than life "Superstars". There's professional wrestling and then there's sports entertainment.
